On Saturday, April 25, Sister Josephine celebrated her 50th jubilee as a professed Little Sister. Sister made a number of trips to the airport during the week to pick up members of her family who came into town from California and across the country to join in the festivities and joy of this important milestone. The Little Sisters’ community and many of our Residents and staff also attended. A jubilee Mass was celebrated at 10:30 am followed by dinner in our auditorium for the Sisters and her family.
A party at 3:00 pm brought everyone together for an ice cream social in the main dining room where gifts and well wishes were offered to Sister by the Residents, family and staff. A committee of Residents had met and worked hard to produce a display of Sister with photos and momentoes of her religious life. Judy Gregory, housekeeping supervisor, made baskets filled with cooking items, since Sister Josephine loves to cook. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to celebrate Sister’s many years of work and dedication to the elderly. We thank God for her presence in our home, her work on the 6th and 7th floors, and the apartments, and her example of commitment to her vocation.
