On the afternoon of Monday, June 9th, our auditorium was transformed into a dance floor for an hour-long concert by the Big Muddy Dance Company. As a professional contemporary jazz dance company, their mission is to “invigorate life through dance.” A unique part of their mission is to produce world-class dance concerts at lower cost ticket prices to make performances more accessible to all. They also give a high priority to honoring senior communities by performing at independent living, assisted living and nursing home facilities on a regular basis. Ten dancers performed for our Residents to a varied repertoire of musical styles including jazz, tango, classical and rock ‘n’ roll. After the show, our Residents had the opportunity to meet the dancers and converse with them over some refreshments. Our Residents thoroughly enjoyed this performance and the dancers expressed a desire to perform for us again in the future.
