Last week the Activities Department of our Home spearheaded a Gingerbread House competition among our 8 floors. Each floor received the same cardboard box with instructions to make a gingerbread house for Christmas to be displayed around the Home. Any and all ideas were welcomed. Residents and staff from each floor participated and brought items to be used on their creation. We had about 10 days to work on the project. Everyone worked to make their house colorful and unique. Then all the finished products were displayed together on the first floor, and visitors, staff and Residents were encouraged to vote for most creative, most original and most festive creation. The laundry department won most creative and most original with their house that had a removable roof and even a decorated interior. The 2nd floor won the most festive award. Everyone had a good time and many laughs as they worked together on this holiday project. It also helped to get everyone in the Home into a festive mood for the upcoming Christmas season.
