Recently our home received new sewing machines and new vacuum cleaners. No one was more thrilled than our seamstress, Shirley Booker, our laundry supervisor Christine Wright, and our housekeeping supervisor, Judy Gregory!
Our generous donors responded to our winter newsletter wish list to provide for these necessary items. They are replacing machines that had served us for many years but had fallen into disrepair. Sewing everything from clothing for the Residents to habits for the Sisters, it’s a full time job just to keep everyone well clothed.
Three new industrial quality vacuum cleaners, donated by Bill Hinderer, President of the Tacony Corporation here in the St. Louis area, enables our housekeeping staff to do daily heavy-duty cleaning of our 8-floor residence without transporting machines from one floor to another.
Our pictures show off Shirley with her new sewing machines and Judy posing with donor Bill Hinderer and his sons, who delivered the vacuums and a sewing machine with him. Thank you to all who responded to our needs and brought us these new and much-needed items.
