Recently Myrtle Davis, who volunteers in our Development Office, Gift Shop, and in the Dining Room at our Home, visited her son in the Boston area. Among the many things she did there was to visit the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Somerville, MA. Myrtle is also a member of the Association Jeanne Jugan. To her delight, she visited on the day that their home was celebrating the 60th anniversary of profession of Sr. Andre Marie de la Trinite who had professed her vows in 1953.
Auxiliary Bishop Robert Hennessey was the celebrant of the liturgy and represented Archbishop O’Malley who sent his regrets for being unable to be there for the festivities. Mother Superior and others made Myrtle comfortable as they gave her a tour of their home and then ate lunch with the residents.
All in all it was a fine trip for Myrtle and another experience of the Little Sisters and their work in the northeast with the needy elderly.
