Twenty Maryville University students joined with fifteen of our Residents—all in wheelchairs—to spend an all-day outing at our annual trip to the St. Louis Zoo. This was the students’ Service Project day, and they helped our activities staff to assure that our Residents would enjoy a fun day at the popular venue. Lunches were brought from home, and the weather cooperated to give everyone a good time. This is a great time of the year to see the animals since almost all of them are out and about. In St. Louis, the free zoo is still alive and well, one of the most popular sites in the area, and draws crowds from all age groups.
