About 25 high school seniors, representing all the Catholic high schools in the St. Louis area, visited our Home last week. The students were all recipients of the Archbishop May Award. The award is given each year to seniors who have exhibited ongoing social service in the community. The students got a tour of our Home, spent time with our Residents, and spoke in our main dining room about the kind of work they have done that qualified them for the award – everything from soup kitchen work and ministry to prisoners, to trips of service in Latin America. Not only did the students learn about our ministry to the needy elderly, but they educated all of us on the great ministry being done by high schoolers in our community. Now all the students are looking forward to final exams, proms, and graduation.
