Our Resident Christmas Party was held on Monday, December 23 and was extra special this year! First of all we were blessed with a holiday visit from Mother Provincial and her assistant, Sister Therese Marie. Not only were the Residents happy to see them, but Santa Claus took advantage of their help in distributing the gifts to all of our more than 100 Residents. Students who are preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation next May were also there from Saint Clare parish in Ellisville to act as Santa’s elves and to help serve the Residents refreshments.
Terri Hicks’ saxophone provided the Christmas background of carols while presents were distributed. “Peanuts” Hugh Whalen, a jazz pianist and local favorite on the Saint Louis music scene, provided some carols on the piano and vocals as well. A generous grant from a family Foundation helped to make the Christmas goodies and presents especially meaningful and plentiful this year. May all enjoy this Christmas season of joy and peace!
