Our auditorium was filled with Residents, staff, family visitors and New Year decorations as we celebrated our annual New Year’s Eve party on the 31st. There were lots of noisemakers, laughter, and entertainment from Dan Balsamo who played guitar and saxophone and sang a mixture of standards and party favorites. An array of fruits, cheeses, crackers, chocolates and other snacks together with various bubbly beverages added to the festivities and fun atmosphere. Staff members and the Little Sisters served the food and drink to our Residents, some of whom had family visitors for the event. Even some rose to the occasion with singing and dancing.
As we neared the stroke of “midnight,” everyone counted down the final seconds of 2013. Balloons dropped from the ceiling as we welcomed the New Year with laughter and great hope for a better year ahead. The music and fun continued for another hour or so. Everyone enjoyed this once-a-year event and took the opportunity to usher in the New Year with well wishes for one and all.
