Every November we honor all the Residents who are at least 90 years old with a special luncheon in our auditorium. This year we were blessed with 32 Residents who were celebrated. The tables were lavishly decorated with white tablecloths and napkins, wine glasses and centerpieces. The festivities began with hors d’oeuvres, followed by soup and salad, beef burgundy, and a fruit parfait for dessert. Beer and wine was available to make the meal complete. The ladies wore tiaras while the men donned black ties for the event. The kitchen staff did the food preparations and other staff, including the Activities Department, served the Resident guests while live entertainment serenaded them with their favorite songs. It is not only an annual event but a chance for the home to honor our “most senior citizens” with the respect and dignity they deserve all year round.
