Katharina Zimmer was born on November 29, 1908 in Germany and recently celebrated her 103rd birthday at the Home. Katharina came to the United States when she was 18 years old. She worked mostly in the field of child care. Katharina has been quite active her entire life. She loved to walk and ice skate, and was able to keep up her regular swimming until 2005 when she was 97.
Katharina came to the St. Louis Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor in November of 2006. The other Residents and staff on her 5th floorrecall her gentle ways and small acts of kindness towards them. May God continue to bless her on life’s journey!
