Our home was buzzing with excitement this year on the feast of St. Joseph. Not only is it an important feast for the Little Sisters with their long tradition of dedication to the saint, but we were anticipating Bishop Rice celebrating our liturgy. Eleven priests from the archdiocese also concelebrated the Mass. Visiting musicians added to the liturgical festivities.
The morning began with a gathering in the lobby as Bishop Rice blessed our St Joseph statue and all the breads that were made for the occasion, and led us in the litany of St. Joseph. Following the liturgy, we continued the tradition of the concelebrants serving a formal lunch to our Residents, complete with wine and lemon meringue pie. All in all it was a significant event that would have made St. Joseph proud!
